Training Project
Project aim:
To consistently provide a high
quality training provision that is responsive to the needs of Rotherham
women and community groups.
Highlights of the Year
-
A GROW sessional tutor was
successful in obtaining a full time post delivering the Remember Us
project for Rotherham Library Services. She acknowledged that the work
experience with us together with her professional development
opportunities gave her the confidence “to have a go”
-
In February 2006 GROW gained
centre approval from the National Open College Network (NOCN) to deliver
the Qualification Framework.
-
We
successfully delivered over 20 courses working in partnership with 14
organisations from the voluntary, community and statutory sector
-
We have delivered quality formal and informal
learning opportunities to 170 Rotherham people
-
91 people achieved
accreditation.
In 2006 – 2007 the Training
Project is working towards:

Continuing to link in with
partner organisations, delivering training and where appropriate
supporting their development

Regularly reviewing and
circulating the GROW training directory

Working with the other GROW
projects to support RAPRA to be embedded
-
Remaining committed to the
development and maintenance of quality systems that support GROW training
opportunities
-
Offering further progression
opportunities for our learners by extending the scope of training
traditionally offered by GROW using the NOCN qualification framework.

Developing a marketing
strategy and a framework for organisations to purchase training from GROW
-
Working with partners
looking at the possibilities of developing training opportunities for play
schemes
-
Linking in with the extended
school agenda and delivering training to parents on school sites.

Developing new partnerships
that will challenge and enhance the training project.
